It is certain not a lot of you have heard of Turkish films.. Turkish films are in my opinion good movies. They represent turkish and Arab's everyday life. Their movies are most of the time based on true stories. Have you ever been interested in trying to watch a turkish type of movie? Who are famous actors? When did turkish film first start? First of all, turkish movies like to keep the same actors in all of their movies. I have personally watched turkish movies, and my favorite actress is named Beren Saat. She’s a very successful and known actress. She’s almost in every successful turkish movie. She also, most of the time gets a lead role. Saat started acting in 2004 when she was only 20 years old. She’s now 31 years and she’s a well known in Turkey and other Arab countries. She’s filmed around 15 movies during the run of her career.

Second of all, turkish films are most of the time based on true stories, and always have a theme of a love story. Turkish films are more known in the Arab world. The first Turkish film was entitled Ayastefanos'taki Rus Abidesinin Yıkılışı which was released in 1914 which was out 101 years ago! Since Turkish films are like the American Movies for the Arab world, the Turkish film industry make a lot of money. Their gross box office of 2012 in total was 234$ millions.

 

Third of all,  there's so many Turkish movies that are very succesful, but a few made big hits. Like Beynelmilel (as you can see in the image above) which was filmed in 2006. The film got rated 7.5 out of 10 which is still pretty good. Financially, this movie succeeded. This film even won awards at film festivals in Adana, Ankara, Istanbul and Thessalonika.

 

To conclude this, Turkish films are by far my favorite foreign movies and i personally think everyone should at least try and watch some of those films. Overall it's interesting for both, women and men.
